Vilagarcía, Spain, hosted the first edition of La Batalla Trending, a competition that brought together fifty barbering and hairdressing professionals at the Fexdega fairground. The initiative is significant for the industry because it gathered competitors from Madrid, Barcelona, the Canary Islands, Portugal, and Romania in one arena, promoting the exchange of experiences between different technical schools.

The event was organized by Miguel Castro, owner of two barbershops in the city, and Alexander Fernández. The duo aims to take the competition to other Spanish cities in the future. During the competitions, professionals worked live with audience volunteers, allowing both laypeople and experts to follow the execution of the cuts.

La Batalla Trending focused on presenting the latest trends in hair and beard cutting. In addition to classic styles, participants explored avant-garde possibilities, including the use of coloring and bold fades. Some works featured precise geometric finishes that stood out for their technical complexity.

The event featured three distinct categories. The "jóvenes leyendas" (young legends) category was aimed at barbers up to 25 years old, who are beginners in the industry and have a free style. In the cut and beard modality, competitors had fifty minutes to perform both operations using clippers and a straight razor. The "total look" category consisted of a team competition.

The judges evaluated the technical quality of the work, paying attention to the execution of fades, the transition between hair tones, and the cleanliness of the contours. Details such as the fade on the sideburns and nape were also important criteria for the final score.

The program included live music and an outdoor gastronomy area outside the venue. The closing of the day was marked by the award ceremony, presided over by representatives of the local government. Miguel Castro expressed his pride in the support received in the city, describing the realization of the event as a dream come true.
