Nudist barbershop in Florianópolis sets rules to avoid unusual requests
Business owner defines service boundaries, such as banning hidden photos and body evaluations, after receiving unexpected requests from clients.
In Florianópolis, Brazil, the management of a barbershop with a unique concept had to establish new operational guidelines to ensure the professionalization of the service. The initiative came from businesswoman Daniella Motta, who manages the establishment and identified the need to set limits on patrons' expectations after a period of atypical requests.
The main objective of the new rules is to clarify what constitutes technical service and where personal boundaries begin. Among the established prohibitions are hidden photos and videos, a common practice among clients who wanted to share the experience with friends without the consent of the staff or others present.
In addition to visual privacy issues, management faced requests for barbers to give opinions on clients' bodies. Another recurring situation was attempts to negotiate discounts on the haircut price, motivated solely by the fact that the client was naked during the procedure.
To deal with these social dynamics, the team began advising married men to inform their wives before visiting the location. This measure seeks to avoid surprises and align the couple's expectations regarding the intimate nature of the service provided in the space.
The nudity concept in barbershop services attracted significant demand, resulting in a waiting list that can reach three months. Haircuts are priced between R$ 2,000 and R$ 4,000, which reflects the exclusive character of the service and the need to maintain a controlled environment to preserve the client experience.
