Pamplona experiences a boom in traditional barbershops focused on experience and men's care
In the Navarre capital, the sector is growing by combining classic techniques like straight razor use and hot towels with a social environment. Men are seeking more than just quick cuts.
In Pamplona, Spain, the growth of traditional barbershops reflects a significant shift in men's grooming habits. Clients have stopped looking for just a quick cut to value professional advice and specialization in services designed exclusively for them.
This movement is also driven by the social character of these establishments, which have become spaces for relaxation and conversation. The combination of classic aesthetics with modern designs and specific services, such as beard grooming, has consolidated the sector's popularity in the city.
An example of this trend is La Barbería de Maite Arbea, located in the Ensanche neighborhood. Managed by the granddaughter of the original founder, the place recovers traditional treatments, such as the use of hot towels to provide relaxation, combining advanced methods with family tradition.
Another highlight is La Barbera by Eddith, which opened its doors in 2026 in the Lezkairu area. Inspired by old barbershops, the owner welcomes clients with coffee or soda and uses a straight razor for the cut. The session lasts about 45 minutes and includes skin preparation with natural oils.
José María Jurado, a local barber, observes that the profession is resurging because many professionals who called themselves stylists now take on the title of barbers. He highlights that the mustache fashion has returned but requires maintenance: "growing a beard isn't simply stopping shaving, it needs to be kept well-groomed".
The city also houses businesses like Mjond Beauty Barber, founded in 2024 by brothers specialized in men's cuts, and Mila Barber, which operates with prior appointment. MC Peluqueros, founded in 1986, remains a reference point by fusing the classic cut with avant-garde techniques.
New houses, such as New Style Barber Shop on Pío XII avenue, offer complete rituals with hot and cold towels, essential oils, and facial massage. In addition to these, Pamplona has other options scattered throughout the city, consolidating a scenario where men's care is treated as a complete experience.
