In the Spanish town of Seu d'Urgell, the Ribera barbershop and beauty salon faces a decisive moment as it seeks a new owner to take over operations. The business, which began its activities in 1928, is undergoing a transfer process coinciding with the retirement of the current owner. For the professional barbering sector, this case is relevant because it represents an attempt to preserve one of the oldest establishments in the region, keeping alive a local tradition of nearly a century.

The establishment is located on Major Street, one of the city's most historically significant commercial axes, near dels Jueus Street. The area maintains constant foot traffic throughout the week and hosts the local market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The physical space preserves original elements that witness its long trajectory, such as hydraulic tile floors and leather chairs, features valued by those seeking authenticity in service.

The history of the location dates back to its opening by Mr. Martret. Subsequently, Joan Ribera Catarina's father entered as an apprentice and eventually took over ownership. The current son joined the team in 1975, still during his studies, and after obtaining his technical degree in beauty in 1982, he became responsible for management following his father's passing. Since then, he has maintained uninterrupted activity for more than four decades.

To facilitate the transition, the process is managed by the Reempresa program, specialized in the transfer of active businesses. The initiative connects owners who wish to retire with those interested in taking over operations, offering support throughout the entire handover. In this specific case, it is a sole proprietorship focused on beauty and aesthetics services, where the property is under lease.

The main motivation for the sale is to ensure the continuity of the establishment's 98 years of history. The intention is to prevent one of the traditional businesses on Major Street from ceasing operations, thereby preserving a landmark for the local community and for professionals in the field who value the cultural heritage of classic barbershops.
