Manic Panic wins Sally Beauty's 2026 Supplier of the Year award
The brand founded by Tish and Snooky Bellomo was recognized for its long-standing partnership with the retailer. The award highlights the company's trajectory in the global hair color market.
New York, United States – Manic Panic, a pioneer in vibrant hair coloring, received the title of Sally Beauty's 2026 Supplier of the Year. This distinction recognizes the solid partnership between the two companies and consolidates the brand's position in the global beauty sector.
Founded in 1977 by sisters Tish and Snooky Bellomo, the company started as a small boutique catering to the New York punk scene. Almost five decades later, the business has expanded to more than 40 countries and is present in thousands of points of sale. Despite its growth, Manic Panic maintains its status as an independent company owned by women and minorities.
The founders highlighted that the award is a tribute to the brand's mission to empower people to be authentic. "What began as a creative expression of individuality has transformed into a lifelong mission to empower people to be themselves without apology," stated Tish and Snooky Bellomo, co-founders of Manic Panic.
The choice reflects decades of collaboration with Sally Beauty, which helped bring the brand's innovative products to generations of consumers. Manic Panic is credited with creating a new category in the beauty industry long before fashion colors became mainstream, focusing on self-expression and inclusivity.
Beyond product innovation, the company stands out for its commitment to social responsibility. Programs such as Color with a Conscience™ and Dye for Peace® support causes related to LGBTQ+ rights, breast cancer research, and animal welfare. Annually, Manic Panic donates more than 15% of its profits to charitable institutions.
For barbershop and salon professionals, this recognition reinforces the brand's cultural relevance. The dedication to social advocacy has become a defining characteristic of the business, reflecting the founders' belief that commerce can be a force for positive change in society.
