Italy Wins World Barbering Championship in Paris with Collective Strategy

In Paris, France, the Italian barbering national team confirmed its prominent position by winning the OMC Hairworld, considered the main global competition in the beauty and hair sector. The event took place on October 10 and 11 and consolidated the success of the azzurri team on the international stage.

Technical leadership was exercised by Aniello Fidato, a barber born and active in the Rione Traiano neighborhood, on the outskirts of Naples. After an individual career filled with medals, Fidato took on the role of coach in 2019 to develop new talents. With the victory in Paris, he achieved his fifth title as the world's best trainer and his fourth consecutive one, being crowned World Best Trainer OMC Gents Fashion Cup 2026.

The team's triumph was determined by the sum of individual points obtained in the two cutting and styling events. Each athlete received personalized preparation: Francesco Del Monte, from FIAM academy, was directly guided by Fidato; Mario Buonanno, from ANAM academy, had guidance from Pierfilippo Francia; and Vincenzo Buonvissuto, from UAMI academy, was prepared by Giovanni Morra.

In addition to the national title, coaches Francia and Morra were also awarded as world best trainers. The final result brought satisfaction to the technical staff, which included team colleague Alfredo Tranquillino, as well as preparers Felice Scudieri and Michele Iavarone.

In a statement, Fidato thanked FIAM academy president Luigi Forestieri and director Pasquale Mincione. He highlighted the importance of daily work and team spirit to bring Italy's name to the top of the podium.

For the Neapolitan professional, the achievement is a source of personal and collective pride, as it demonstrates that global excellence can be achieved even starting from historically challenging contexts. The victory symbolizes the strength of cooperation between Italian academies and professionals in the international market.
