Morn Barbershop Opens Second Location in Seixal with Themed Kids' Chair
Portuguese couple inaugurates new store at RioSul Shopping, maintaining the brand identity created in Lisbon and betting on male and family care services.
In the municipality of Seixal, Portugal, the couple Micael Morgado and Sandra Moita recently inaugurated the second unit of Morn Barbershop. The opening at RioSul Shopping represents a strategic step for the business, which was born in Lisbon and seeks to expand its presence on the south bank of the Tagus River. For the professional barbershop sector, this case highlights the importance of spatial adaptation and the creation of a differentiated experience to attract new audiences.
The space chosen in the shopping center was previously a sneaker store, located across from the Continente supermarket. After about six months of construction work, the location was revamped to maintain the visual identity of the first unit, situated at Centro Comercial Fonte Nova in Benfica. The decision to preserve the original aesthetic pattern aims to ensure that customers already familiar with the brand immediately recognize the new address.
In addition to cuts and traditional barbershop services, the new store offers an expanded range of facial and body treatments. The menu includes facial hair removal, skin cleansings, hair and beard coloring, as well as combined packages for cut and beard. The strategy seeks to consolidate the space as a complete center for male care, bringing together various needs in one single location.
One of the differentials that is already catching the public's attention is a car-shaped chair, designed specifically for children. As parents of two children, Micael and Sandra understood the need to make the visit to the barbershop more relaxed and fun for the little ones, turning the moment of waiting or service into a playful experience.
The brand's journey began in 2009, when Micael left for Switzerland in search of professional stability. Upon returning to Portugal, he was encouraged by family members to study barbering, starting his career at a local salon before becoming a manager and, finally, opening his own business. The first store was inaugurated in November 2023, after the couple postponed previous plans due to the economic uncertainty of the pandemic.
The name Morn is a tribute to the family, combining references to the owners' surnames and the names of their children, Ricardo and Núria. Although the first months at the new location are in an initial phase, with movement still gradual, the couple maintains expectations of sustained growth. Micael currently splits his time between the two units, seeking to optimize his physical presence in both spaces to ensure the quality of service.
