Alternative Hair Show Comes to Spain in 2026 with Focus on Innovation and Charity
For the first time in 43 years, the event will be held at IFEMA Madrid. The Extravaganza edition will bring together legendary artists and international finalists to celebrate hair art and support leukemia research.
The city of Madrid, Spain, is preparing to host a historic milestone in the beauty industry. For the first time in its 43 years of existence, the Alternative Hair Show will leave the UK to occupy the IFEMA Madrid exhibition center on November 14, 2026. This news is relevant for Brazilian and international professionals as it consolidates the globalization of the event, which traditionally defines creative and technical trends in the sector.
The special edition, named Extravaganza 2026, aims to unite established artists, new talents, and the professional community in a celebration of art, innovation, and education. The event is not just a runway show but also an educational platform that connects different generations of barbers and stylists.
Four artists have already been announced to compose the main stage, representing Spain, the UK, and Italy. Among them is Angelo Seminara, creative director at Kemon and four-time winner of the British Barber of the Year award. Known for his visionary approach that mixes hair, fashion, and art, Seminara will bring his experience in collaborations with major fashion houses to the event.
Another highlight is Carlo Bay, one of Italy's leading educators, whose career spans more than four decades. Founder of the eponymous academy in Florence, he has worked with brands such as Gucci and Roberto Cavalli. His participation reinforces the show's commitment to technical excellence and scientific research, causes he has supported for years.
The Spanish delegation will be represented by Quantum Hair, creatively led by Jorge X. Internationally recognized for integrating technology and hair art, Jorge X was the first non-British barber to win the International Barber of the Year award in 2025. His team will present innovative techniques that challenge the boundaries between visual aesthetics and technological innovation.
Completing the main group is Sanrizz, which returns to the event for the 43rd consecutive time since its founding in 1983. Led by Leonardo Rizzo, Sharon Cox, and Pino Troncone, the artistic team maintains a historic relationship with the show, symbolizing the continuity and technical precision of British and international style.
In addition to the legendary artists' performances, Madrid will host the final of the International Visionary Award. Fifty finalists from 20 countries will have the opportunity to present their creative visions before the global community. The event maintains its philanthropic essence, directing funds raised to leukemia research, uniting social purpose with professional excellence.
