The city of Tres Arroyos, in Argentina, recently hosted one of the largest gatherings of the country's barbering community. The event, named El Proceso, took place between October 3rd and 5th and brought together more than 250 professionals and enthusiasts from the sector. The initiative was organized by locals Jona Jerez, from John’s, and Thomas Pereyra, from Hache Estudio, with the support of the municipal government.

The choice of Tres Arroyos as the host city had a central reason: the presence of Ema Medina, an educator and Uruguayan barber with global renown. He selected the city to hold his final world stage, which attracted international delegations from Uruguay, Mexico, and Guatemala. In addition to foreigners, visitors came from various Argentine provinces, such as Necochea, San Bernardo, Guernica, Pehuajó, Rosario, Córdoba, and La Pampa.

The economic impact was significant for the region. Estimates indicate that the event generated a financial turnover of 40 million pesos, an amount concentrated mainly in the local hotel and gastronomy sectors. For professional barbers, the importance of the meeting lies in the networking opportunity and the visibility the city gained as a destination for industry events.

The schedule was divided into three days with distinct activities. On Saturday, October 3rd, the opening took place at the Municipal Sports Center (Polideportivo), featuring themed booths, a gastronomic area, and live performances. Sunday, October 4th, was dedicated to technical training at the Municipal Theater, where seminars, practical classes, and exclusive styling exhibitions were held.

The closing ceremony, on Monday, October 5th, returned to the Municipal Sports Center. The agenda included skill tests, free-style competitions, and the decisive gala of the international contest led by Medina. The organizers' assessment was positive, highlighting the professional precedent created for the sector and the promotion of the city as a hub for hosting events.

For those working in barbering, this case demonstrates how well-structured events can combine technical training with tourism attraction, strengthening the local community and raising the standard of professional practices in the region.
