In the United States, digital platform TheCut is transforming the traditional barbershop experience into a cultural stage. The company, which already connects over 10 million users nationwide, recently launched the verticals TheCut Music and TheCut Comedy. This initiative seeks to capitalize on the debates, laughter, and conversations that have historically filled the shops, offering entertainment to clients while they wait or receive their cuts.

Obi Omile, CEO and co-founder of the company, explains that the idea was not a drastic strategic shift but rather a natural continuation of the existing culture. He highlights that barbers act as opinion leaders in their cities, introducing new artists and shaping local narratives. For Omile, humor and stories walk hand in hand with haircuts, making the space authentic for live performances.

In the music sector, management is done in partnership with Ray Daniels and RDP. Emerging artists can apply through a form on the platform's page. If approved, they are scheduled for performances, often in Atlanta. To date, rapper Travis Porter has already performed at the venue, playing classic songs that generate nostalgia among the audience present.

The comedy vertical is still under development. Although talented comedians have already performed, the team is working to define a format that maximizes the impact of humor. The commercial strategy aims to use entertainment as a brand awareness tool, making it culturally relevant and introducing new audiences to the platform.

Beyond entertainment, the company maintains its focus on the Black community in the United States. With an estimated purchasing power of two trillion dollars this year, TheCut has implemented capital programs to fund barbers and initiatives such as haircut discounts for students. The circulation of this money within the community allows the brand to reinvest locally.

For the future, the platform plans to launch a barber discovery experience with a card-swiping mechanic, similar to dating apps. Additionally, there are plans for international expansion in 2027, aiming to serve the global diaspora and ensure that anyone in the world can trust TheCut to find a professional.
