In Bari, Italy, the municipal administration paid tribute to the Manobianco family, owners of one of the city's most traditional barbershops. The recognition was delivered through the installation of a commemorative plaque at the establishment, which was founded in 1964 by Giovanni Manobianco, who was only 25 years old at the time. The initiative highlights the business's resilience over more than sixty years of history.

The location has undergone various urban and social changes, reaching the second generation of the family. Currently, his son Sandro runs operations alongside his wife, Rosa. This family continuity is seen as an essential pillar for preserving the identity of the space, which has become a landmark for local residents.

Among the most striking memories recorded by the founder is his relationship with Nino Rota, the renowned composer responsible for the soundtracks of Italian cinema classics, including the film La dolce vita. The musician was a regular client at the barbershop but kept his profession secret from Giovanni. The revelation only occurred when the barber saw the artist's portrait published in the pages of a newspaper.

Angela Perna, city councilor and president of the equal opportunities committee, praised the family's journey during the ceremony. She described the case as a story of genuine love for work and the city, thanking councilman Vittorio Piancaldini for having nominated the historic business for the official tribute.

The plaque delivered was signed by Mayor Vito Leccese and celebrates values such as passion, dedication, craftsmanship, and human warmth. For the local government, the barbershop represents much more than a simple business; it is a symbol of cultural and social resistance that serves consecutive generations of Bari residents.

For professionals in the field, the case reinforces the importance of community ties in the longevity of men's beauty businesses. Maintaining a strong identity and providing personalized service over decades demonstrates how tradition can coexist with urban modernity, ensuring relevance even in competitive markets.
