In Florianópolis, Brazil, the barbershop market gained a new highlight with the arrival of Alex Sena at the helm of a Barbearia VIP unit in Downtown. The transition from independent professional to network manager is relevant for those working in the sector, as it illustrates how digitalization and networking can accelerate career advancement.

Sena entered the market in 2014, a period described as a barbershop boom in the country. His trajectory gained visibility from early 2015, when he began sharing his routine on social media. Posts focused on daily life and technique generated local engagement, especially among other professionals in the field.

This digital exposure caught the attention of Victor Conceição, CEO of Barbearia VIP. After several contacts and a period during which Sena was already operating his own barbershop, the franchise opportunity arose. The professional signed the contract in December 2025, taking over the management of one of the network's main units in the region.

For Sena, the change represents more than just a new position. He highlights that the support offered by the network has been fundamental for optimizing accounting, tax, and marketing processes. This structure allows for broader and more organized administration compared to the smaller operation he was previously running.

In practice, the franchisee is responsible for the general management of the unit, which offers a diversified portfolio. Services include haircuts and beard trims, tattooing, tattoo removal, waxing, massages, and podiatry. To retain customers, the shop also provides amenities such as pool tables, video games, and a free open bar.

The Barbearia VIP business model requires an initial investment starting at R$ 280,000, with an estimated average payback period of 24 months. Looking to the future, Sena plans to open new units, aiming to consolidate his operations as references in the sector nationally.
