Wahl Professional Makes Debut at London Fashion Week with Yuhan Wang Show
The British brand sponsors the SS27 runway in London, using professional tools to create a look that blends defined waves and messy texture.
Wahl Professional marked its first official appearance as a hair sponsor at the London Fashion Week, held in London, UK. The collaboration took place during Yuhan Wang's Spring/Summer 2027 collection runway show, titled Sweet Nightmare. For the barbering and aesthetics sector, the event is relevant for demonstrating the practical application of high-performance professional tools in demanding creative contexts.
Four products were fundamental to the hair execution: the Wahl Pro Shine Curling Tong babyliss, the Pro Shine Conical Wand cone, the Pro Glide Straighteners flat irons, and the Vanquish blow dryer. The team of stylists used these items together to build smooth, defined pin curls, subsequently transforming them into the intentionally messy finish seen on the runway.
The artistic direction was led by Stacey Wright, Artistic Lead at Wahl Professional, and James Parr, a member of the European art and education team. The creative concept stemmed from the image of a woman who fell asleep with her hair tied in traditional waves before entering a nightmare. Thus, romantic and polished shapes were maintained but interrupted by volume at the hairline and disordered texture.
According to James Parr, the thermal consistency and keratin-infused ceramic barrel of the Pro Shine Curling Tong provided the elasticity and refined shape necessary for the traditional base. The Vanquish blow dryer, in turn, used focused airflow to create root lift and loosen the finish without losing the underlying structure.
Stacey Wright highlighted the need to work quickly backstage without losing control of the final result. She stated that "the lightweight design of the Vanquish dryer allowed it to be handled comfortably throughout the show preparation," while its directed airflow helped build height and movement.
The visual result reflected the unstable theme between sleep and wakefulness, aligning with the collection's pieces that mixed lingerie, sheer lace, and sportswear fabrics. Although the tools were tested by professionals in a high-pressure environment, they are also designed for home use, offering versatility to create everything from defined waves to smooth and polished finishes.
This debut positions Wahl Professional's styling category at the center of one of the world's main fashion showcases. The feat demonstrates how technical performance developed for professionals can be directly translated into everyday use, connecting the runway backstage to the bathroom mirror.
